Bolton, VT – Spring skiing and riding wouldn’t be complete without a skim across the pond, which is what brave Superheroes and comic book characters will attempt to do at Vermont’s Bolton Valley ski resort on Saturday, March 26.nThis year’s pond skimming event, the resort’s biggest party of the season and a celebration of spring, is dedicated to “Superheros and Comics,” so resort official are expecting a lot of heroes chasing villains out of the pond in the hopes of not getting wet themselves.
Pond skimming takes place on a man-made pond created especially for the event, right in front of the Base Lodge. Competitors, fueled only by gravity, technique and the desire to stay dry, will attempt to skim across the pond on skis or a snowboard for special prizes and awards.
The entry fee is $5 per skimmer and participants must have a lift ticket for the day or a season pass to enter. Registration will take place on the day of the event from 10 a.m. to noon, with skimming beginning at 1 p.m. After the awards ceremony around 3 p.m., skiers and riders are invited to join a post-skim complimentary wine tasting celebration at the Bolton Valley Deli in the base village area.
A great spectator event as well, music, a DJ and good vibes will round out the festivities.
