Ontario Ski Instructor Dies on Last Day of Ski Season

Coldwater (ON), Canada – A 65-year-old ski instructor died Sunday in an accident at Mount St.-Louis Moonstone, the final day of operation this season at the resort located north of Barrie, Ontario.nPeter Barrick, of Oro Medonte Township, crashed into a tree while descending one of the resort’s intermediate runs. Police indicate that he suffered severe head and spinal injuries. He was wearing a helmet, and was reportedly not working at the time of the incident.

Rescue crews had planned to airlift the victim to St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto before he was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is planned to confirm the cause of death.
