Beaupré (QC), Canada – Mont-Sainte-Anne’s Spring Madness Festival, running through April 25 at the Quebec ski and snowboard resort, is a time for all to enjoy the best of the ski season’s final weekends with BBQs and relaxing hot tubs, a mechanical snowboard, rail jam, friendly competitions, picnics under the sun, the mountainside sugar shack, outdoor concerts and, of course, spring skiing and riding.nEvery weekend through the end of the season resort officials will stage a BBQ at the summit of the mountain, and the resort’s traditional mountainside sugar shack will serve up tasty maple treats halfway down the resort’s La Pichard run. Inflatable games and the Arctic Spas Zone at the base of the mountain will be free for all, as will be mini-goff at the TELUS Snow Sport School.
Two separate competitions are scheduled to be held this Saturday. The JH Lamontagne Cross-Country Circuit is a 1km sprint competition taking place at 10 a.m. at Mont-Sainte-Anne’s cross-country skiing center. Athletes who are competing will be following in the steps of the official ambassador of the mountain, Alex Harvey. Join everyone there for the Spring Party to enjoy a free BBQ.
Back on the hill, it’s the 4th edition of the Snow School Challenge, welcoming instructors from every corner of the province to compete on the Big Slalom and Boardercross circuit at 11 a.m.
On April 9, be part of the crowd that will gather to watch the Karma Kameleons phenomenon on stage and feel the 80s vibe. This live concert for the whole family starts at 2 p.m. on the main stage at the base of the ski area. On the same day, the “Bag Jam” located at the MSA XL Snow Park between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. will allow skiers and snowboarders to practice jumps for free on a huge air bag. The resort’s snow park access card is mandatory and kids under 18 need a parent’s or guardian’s signed permission.
On April 16, Mont-Sainte-Anne’s main outdoor stage will be transformed as U2 music, decor and costumes will carry away fans with a free concert starting at 2 p.m.
On April 23 through 25 a special Easter long weekend will wrap up the ski season. Meet up on La Pichard run for a tasty maple treat while the Easter Bunny will descend the slopes with the kids.
