Zell am See, Austria – An unidentified 48-year-old man died Tuesday while trying to retrieve a runaway ski in the Pinzgau region of Salzburg in Austria.nAccording to police, the man was ski touring on the 3,338-meter Hohen Riffl, part of the Großglockner Mountains, when the incident occurred. One of his bindings released about 50m below the summit and he was attempting to recover his runaway ski when he fell to his death.

The victim succumbed to multiple trauma. His body was recovered by helicopter.
