Snowbird Kicks Off Summer with Brewfest and Father’s Day BBQ

Snowbird, UT – Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort is hosting its third annual Brewfest on June 18 and 19, featuring more than a dozen Utah breweries, live music, rides and a Father’s Day Barbecue. The resort is also beginning its summer activities June 18 to complement its ski and snowboard season still underway.

“The expanded Brewfest will be a fantastic way to kick off our summer season,” said Bob Bonar, President of Snowbird. “Families can relax and enjoy the festivities while Snowbird does the grilling at our special Father’s Day Barbecue.”

Free live music will be performed by RAG, UniPhi and .357 String Band on June 17, and Wafer, Legendary Porch Pounders and Marinade on June 18.  Music and brewery sales will begin at noon and end at 7 p.m. each day.  Festivities will also feature crafters and vendors peddling their wares.

Breweries include Bohemian, Desert Edge, Red Rock, Uinta, Hoppers, Ruby River, Moab, Wasatch, Squatters, Roosters, Park City, Shades of Pale, Epic and more. Most 3-ounce samples of beer will be sold at $1 apiece.  Food tents will accompany the beer stands, and Snowbird is hosting a Father’s Day Barbecue on Sunday.

Snowbird’s Father’s Day Barbecue is all-you-can-eat with a choice of two eating periods.  The first is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the second is from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Food options include minted cut watermelon, pineapple-glazed mahi-mahi, Southern-style baby back ribs, corn on the cob, and many more. Barbecue tickets include a free Aerial Tram ride. Adults cost $18.95, children age 6-12 cost $10.95, and children age 5 and under are free.

For overnight guests, Snowbird’s Cliff Lodge is offering a special Father’s Day package that includes overnight accommodations, a foot-passenger Tram ticket and Father’s Day Barbecue. Summer activities include the ZipRider, climbing wall, bungy trampolines, ropes course, air jumper, mechanical bull and kids inflatables.  The resort will continue running the Aerial Tram to provide pedestrian access to Hidden Peak.  Skiing and snowboarding will also be an option Fridays through Sundays until July Fourth (including Monday, July 4), conditions permitting.  Snowbird’s alpine slide will open later in the spring.

Other Snowbird summer events include the Cool Air Concert Series featuring free live music every Saturday night at 6 p.m. from June 25-August 13.
