Lift-Served Mountain Biking, Hiking and Scenic Chairlift Rides Open Friday at Deer Valley

Park City, UT – It’s been taking a while for this past ski season’s deep snowpack to melt from the slopes of Deer Valley Resort, but enough has now disappeared to allow the Utah ski area’s lift-served mountain biking, hiking and scenic ride summer operations to begin this Friday, June 17.

Deer Valley will open its Silver Lake Express and Sterling Express chairlifts this Friday, as well as the Ruby chairlift which is new to the summer operation this year.  Due to the amount of snow still on the trails, Silver Lake Express chairlift from the Snow Park Base area will offer scenic rides and limited mountain biking on Devo, Four Point and Tour Des Homes trails. Sterling Express chairlift from Silver Lake at mid-mountain and Ruby Express chairlift from Empire Canyon will only offer scenic chairlift rides.  New biking and hiking trails will open as conditions permit. Reduced early season rates are in effect until further notice.

Deer Valley’s Bike Rental Shops located at all three lifts offer bike rentals, repairs and essential equipment for riders and all rentals include a helmet and complimentary water bottle.  Lift tickets, bike rentals and lessons are available from both Mountain Bike Rental Shops, located at Snow Park Lodge or outside Silver Lake Lodge at mid-mountain or from the Empire Yurt adjacent to Empire Canyon Lodge.  Parking is available at both the Snow Park and Silver Lake Lodges. Deer Valley operates its own Mountain Bike School, offering scheduled clinics and tours for all abilities. Hiking guides are also available.

Hours of operation are from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. daily through Labor Day, then an additional weekend, Sept. 10 and 11, conditions permitting.
