Norden, CA – The Lake Mary Cabin Dinner Series, featuring Chef Alan Davis’ French-inspired California cuisine, returns to California’s Sugar Bowl ski resort this summer with al fresco fine dining out on the deck, overlooking the scenic high-alpine lake and stunning Palisades backdrop.
Open Friday and Saturday evenings from July 29 through September 24 with seating available from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the Lake Mary Cabin Dinner Series features varied menu selections including homemade soups, salads, seafood entrees, wild game dishes, vegetarian creations, pasta entrees, extensive wine list and handmade desserts. Reservations are open to the public and available by calling Sugar Bowl on (530) 426-7002.
As a way to give back, each Friday evening will feature a different local non-profit organization, with a portion of the evening’s proceeds benefiting their worthy causes. Guests can mingle with leaders from various non-profits to learn more about their organization’s goals and missions, or simply choose to dine on that particular evening to support that organization’s efforts while enjoying fine dining with a view.

July 29th – Gateway Mountain Center
The Gateway Mountain Center gets youth outside. Connecting youth to nature, they provide hands-on learning in field science, mountain adventure, and eco-literacy. Gateway Mountain Center serves schools from around Northern California, including many from low-income communities, and runs ongoing youth development programs for local at-risk teens.
August 5th – Truckee Donner Land Trust
The Truckee Donner Land Trust preserves and protects scenic, historic and recreational lands with high natural resource values in the Truckee Donner region.
August 12th – Rotary Club of Truckee and Truckee Sunrise Rotary Club
The main objective of Rotary is service – in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotary volunteers build goodwill and peace, provide humanitarian service, and encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, with the motto “Service Above Self.”
August 19th – Donner Summit Historical Society
To offer lectures, seminars, and field trips that will help the community learn the history of Donner Summit and the surrounding area, to collect and display artifacts relative to the history of the area, and to carry on other educational and charitable activities associated with this purpose.
August 26th – Auburn Ski Club
Auburn Ski Club was founded in 1964 with the goal to offer low cost, high quality ski sport programs for individuals and families.
Sept. 2nd – Truckee Trails Foundation
Truckee Trails Foundation is a committed group of community-minded people focused on the development of a local trail and bikeway system, with the goal to connect people and places, reduce dependence on automobiles and improve physical, social, and environmental health for the community. The group believes that creating a connected community with safe earthen and paved trails, usable by walkers, hikers, wheelchairs, and riders will improve the quality of life in the community, making it a desirable place to live, work and visit.
Sept. 9th – Donner Summit Area Association
Representing the people of the historic Donner Summit community for the preservation of the area’s rugged mountain character and natural resources by providing active coordination for community development and other issues.
Sept. 16th – Excellence in Education
Arts for the Schools – The Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation enhances public education within the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District to strengthen the learning experience for students. Arts for the Schools provides access, awareness and hands-on educational experiences for students to interact with professional artists, both local and world-renown.
Sept. 23rd – Humane Society of Truckee Tahoe
Dedicated to saving and improving the lives of pets through adoption, community spay/neuter services and human education programs.
