Lake Wanaka, New Zealand – A day after high winds scuttled training for the ski slopestyle competition at Winter Games New Zealand, gusts over 50 kph forced organizers to postpone Monday’s scheduled competition at Snow Park NZ.
Winter Games NZ organizers say their current plan is to try and run the competition on Tuesday, with practice beginning at 8:20 a.m. followed by qualification starts at 9:15 a.m. MetService.com, however, is predicting winds gusting to 70-80 kph on Tuesday.
A decision will be made by organizers early Tuesday morning.
