Hunter, NY – Hunter Mountain ski area and the Village of Hunter, N.Y. will be honoring those who were lost on 9/11 with the dedication of the 9/11 10th Anniversary Memorial, made of steel from the World Trade Center. Constructed by David Slutzky, the memorial will be erected in Dolan’s Lake, which is located at the base of Hunter Mountain on Ski Bowl Road.
Members of the FDNY and New York State Police will be in attendance. The Village of Hunter is supporting this project, and will be donating a bronze plaque designed by Lieut. Ret. Joseph Jove Jr. donated to the memorial. The ski resort will also be handling all landscaping of the site.
“We are privileged to be a part of this event to honor those men and women who were lost on 9/11, as well as the brave individuals who risked and sacrificed their lives for us,” said Gerry Tschinkel, Hunter’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
The memorial is scheduled to take place at 1 p.m. this Saturday, September 17th. All are invited to attend.
