Albany, NY – One of the nation’s longest-running consumer snow and travel shows will return for its 50th consecutive year in anticipation of the ski and snowboard season beginning Friday, November 4 through Sunday, November 6 at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany, N.Y. The show will celebrate its golden anniversary with free lift tickets, a new website that offers online ticket discounts, and new family friendly pricing, including free admission for children 9 years old and under accompanied by a paid adult.
The Albany Ski & Snowboard Expo, presented by Alpin Haus and sponsored by Dunkin’ Donuts, will provide winter sports enthusiasts with an early look at the 2011-12 season, including the newest in winter sporting equipment, fashion and travel. The Expo will showcase the latest 2012 models from retailers and manufacturers and offer early season discounts on purchases.
Many of the top mountains and resorts from throughout the Northeast, West and Canada will be represented. The three-day event will feature free prizes and merchandise, and interactive, family friendly activities. The expo will also include its traditional array of auctions, previously used equipment sales, workshops and seminars.
New this year will be several giveaways and special promotions in celebration of the show’s golden anniversary, as well as an all-new website for 2011, where patrons can purchase tickets online for the first time in the Expo’s history. Advance tickets will be available online for $7 at www.albanyskiandsnowboardexpo.com. Also new this year is a change in the pricing structure in celebration of the 50th anniversary, as all children 9 years old and under accompanied by an adult will now be admitted free of charge. Admission at the door will cost $8 for attendees ages 10 and up.
Show hours are from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
