Salt Lake City, UT – USANA Health Sciences, Inc., a global nutritional supplement company based in Salt Lake City, has announced it was named an official partner of the U.S. Ski Team, U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing. USANA will be providing health supplements and other nutritional products to the athletes of the U. S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA), the national governing body for Olympic skiing and snowboarding.
“This partnership was a natural fit, and we are thrilled to welcome the USSA to the USANA family, or as we like to call it, Team USANA,” said Dan Macuga, vice president of marketing, public relations and social media. “Athletes are extremely careful about what supplements they take, so to be trusted in assisting with their health and performance is an honor.”
As an NSF-certified manufacturer of nutritional products, USANA has long been providing supplements to professional athletes and Olympic teams, including the Women’s Tennis Association, U.S. Speedskating, Biathlon Canada, Women’s Ski Jumping and many others.
“Nutritionals are a key component of athlete performance,” said the USSA’s High Performance Director Troy Flanagan. “USANA will provide us with both innovative products that work for athletes as well as a high standard of quality in manufacturing.”
“As part of our partnership, we plan to work closely with the USSA’s nutritionists to determine not only the best nutritional regimen for these world-class athletes, but to understand how we can improve or develop new products that will assist these athletes in getting to the next level,” says Dr. Brian Dixon, USANA Director of Product Innovation. “We share the same goal: to provide the best possible nutrition to our athletes, and for USANA, to our customers around the world.”
Under the terms of the eight-year partnership, which will extend through two Olympic Winter Games, USANA was named as the Official Vitamin, Supplement and Minerals Partner for the USSA.
“As a premier sports organization it’s important that we develop mutually beneficial partnerships with global brands like USANA,” said USSA’s Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer Andrew Judelson. “Working with USANA will assist each of us in elevating and extending our brands. And, as a health sciences leader, USANA will provide meaningful, direct support to our athletes.”
