Mansfield, OH – Snow Trails, Ohio’s first commercial ski area, will host its 4th Annual Swap & Zozo Fest October 28 to 30. The weekend festivities will encourage families to enjoy time in the outdoors together and prepare for the coming winter season.
The Swap will open Friday, October 28th at 3 p.m. for those who will register apparel and equipment items for sale and will be open for the public to begin to browse the selection. Each item registered for the Swap will cost $1, with a 20% sales commission benefitting the non-profit Snow Trails Ski Patrol. Commissions gained from sales will help the Patrol purchase safety equipment and supplies for use during the winter season.
The Swap will close at 9 p.m. Friday, re-opening at 10 a.m. Saturday morning along with Zozo Fest booths and the Snow Trails Ski Shop. Fest booths will include ski industry exhibitors and booths to highlight winter employment opportunities at Snow Trails, racing programs for the season, The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition (TAASC), and others. Season passes will be offered at a five percent discount throughout the weekend. The Snow Trails Ski Patrol will fire-up the grill, serving bratwurst along with cold adult beverages and sodas beginning at 10:30 a.m. outside the main lodge.
The Zozo Party will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday when the Last Run Bar will open as the Patroller’s set up their grill once again on the back deck of the ski area’s main lodge. The Zozobra Bonfire has become a fun family event and will take place after dusk with the traditional burning of the Zozobra said to bring a snowy ski season to Ohio’s Possum Run Valley.
On Sunday the Swap will continue for a third and final day from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. For those who entered items in the Swap, pick-up of unsold items should take place between 5 to 7 p.m., with payment to sellers for items sold at the same time.
