Jeffersonville, VT – The only pure telemark ski movie to be released this year, Loyalty, produced by the editor of Vermont-based Telemark Skier Magazine (TSM), Josh Madsen, has embarked upon a 50-stop nationwide tour scheduled to hit ski towns, universities and metropolitan areas this fall and early winter.
Loyalty explores the youth telemark movement while also introducing some of the most profound telemark skiing on the planet. The flick blends appearances from TSM Crew, a first-of-its-kind athlete/content creation team including the likes of JT Robinson and Weston D, along with performances by innovative newcomers like Kate Hourihan, Tony Gill and Dylan Garner.
“This La Nina year made for one of the longest winters I can remember,” says Madsen, who resides in Utah. “The powder just kept on coming.”
In scenes both on and off-piste, the film showcases the sport’s most avant-garde moves in the deep powder and in the park.
“One of my favorite days this year was filming Dylan Garner doing tricks in the park that I’ve never seen before,” Madsen adds. “It reminds me of how important youth are to the progress of this sport.”
A significant figure in the freeheel scene for over a decade, Madsen is himself no stranger to big air. He appeared in Warren Miller Entertainment’s Higher Ground, in addition to several of his own releases through his former company, Lipstick Films. Loyalty is the fourth film Madsen has produced.
Having kicked off last week in Flagstaff, Ariz., the third annual Telemark Skier Movie Tour making appearances nationwide. Tour dates, tickets to screenings and more information may be found online at www.telemarkskier.com/tour. Watch the trailer:
