U.S. Ski Team Expands Partnership with World Cup Supply

Park City, UT – An expanded partnership between the U.S. Ski Team and on-hill equipment providers World Cup Supply, Inc. and SPM announced this week will have significant impact from the national team to U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) clubs and regions, as well as the new U.S. Ski Team Speed Center at Copper.

Vermont-based World Cup Supply is the North American distributor of alpine ski racing safety equipment, racing gates and panels from SPM of Italy, along with competition bibs and other on-hill supplies. Over the term of the three-year agreement, World Cup Supply, a Team partner since 1991, and SPM will dramatically increase their support by providing a wide array of on-hill products to the Team.

“It’s a great advantage for us to have access to training supplies that provide a safe environment for our athletes,” said USSA Alpine Director Patrick Riml. “World Cup Supply and SPM have been a great help in providing gates, panels and other equipment direct to our training bases at home and abroad. And there’s a strong focus on our club programs nationwide, as well.”

As a part of its partnership outreach, World Cup Supply will also partner with the USSA to deliver education to USSA clubs on how to use and maintain on-hill equipment along with tips on how to provide a safer competition and training environment for athletes. World Cup Supply is also active with the Kelly Brush Foundation in supporting ski racing safety education.

“Our partnership with the USSA is a way for us to give back to the athletes and the organization which provides support to them,” said World Cup Supply President Brad Williams. “It’s also an opportunity to provide more consistency in product, for example, by providing the Team with a full setup of SPM gates and panels. Most importantly, however, we plan to leverage this partnership to promote the safety component of ski racing with useful segments on the USSA’s Center of Excellence TV educational channel.”

In addition to its expanded partnership with the USSA, World Cup Supply and SPM are also key suppliers at the new U.S. Ski Team Speed Center at Copper. The Colorado based downhill training center will open in early November over two miles of B-Net and A-Net systems designed, fabricated and installed by SPM and World Cup Supply and the team at Copper.
