Bridgton, ME – No one can guarantee it will snow on any given day. But when nature disappoints, assuming the proper temperature and humidity, ski areas can get to work making their own. In western Maine, Shawnee Peak has recently added to their snowmaking arsenal and filled the rental shop with new skis, snowboards, helmets and boots as well.
The resort’s two new HKD Super Crystal Fan Guns oscillate 300 degrees, have the capacity to convert 250 gallons of water per minute into snow and throw snow 150 feet.
Additions to Shawnee Peak’s rental gear stock include 100 Elan Rocker skis, 75 Dalbello ski boots, 75 Burton snowboards, 100 Burton boots and 60 helmets.
