Bridgton, ME – Shawnee Peak in Bridgton will be offering free lesson packages to introduce skiing and snowboarding to those new to snow sports on December 17th.
The western Maine resort’s “Get Skiing I” and “Get Snowboarding I” programs lasts from an hour and a half to two hours, and start with the basics: stopping, turning, controlling speed and direction, and riding a chairlift. The programs, available to first-timers ages 8 and up only, includes a package of ski or snowboard gear rentals, a lesson and a beginner lift ticket.
Each of these programs normally cost $79, but on Dec. 17 Shawnee Peak is offering them free of charge to introduce new skiers and riders to the sports.
