Wrightwood, CA – A 23-year-old Riverside, Calif. woman died Sunday while snowboarding at Mountain High Resort in Wrightwood.

Angelique De Leon was snowboarding with friends at Mountain High when she fell forward around 4 p.m., according to officials with the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office. She was evacuated by Mountain High ski patrol to a waiting ambulance, which transported the victim to Community Hospital of San Bernardino, where she was pronounced dead at 5:25 p.m. Sunday.
De Leon was reportedly a beginning snowboarder and was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. The Coroner’s office indicates that De Leon died of internal injuries.
