Tannersville, PA – Camelback Mountain Resort is feeling the Christmas spirit and this year the Pennsylvania resort put a twist on its traditional “Skiing Santas” promotion by teaming up with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Bridge, Monroe County. In the past, Camelback has given a complimentary open-to-close Christmas Eve lift ticket to anyone dressed in a full Christmas costume, including Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, Rudolf or an elf. This year, Camelback wanted to go the extra mile and give back to the community by asking for a $5 donation to Big Brothers for the lift ticket for anyone dressed in costume.
“It is very easy this time of year to get caught up in the commercialism of the holiday and it is nice to take a step back and truly appreciate the ‘season of giving’. I think it is great to see everyone dressed in Christmas garb out on the slopes, but in the end, the best part is knowing that we are helping a local organization,” said Bill Toye, Vice President of Mountain Operations at Camelback Mountain Resort. “In the Christmas spirit, we are continuing to make snow and try to get the mountain covered for Santa, as well as our guests. Luckily I have several snowmakers and groomers out there that have 20-plus years experience and they are magicians with the snow guns.”
Camelback’s Skiing Santas event takes place from 8:30 to 11 a.m. this Saturday, with a group picture at noon on the Thirsty Camel Deck. All interested guests should report to Guest Services on Saturday morning.
