Ligety Wins Alpine Rockfest for 60,000 Euro

Andalo, Italy –World giant slalom champion Ted Ligety, of Park City, Utah, won the Alpine Rockfest held in Andalo just before Christmas by .02 to seconds claim the 60,000 Euro top prize. In addition to the big paycheck, Ligety recieved a champagne shower from teammate Bode Miller for his victory. Second went to Italian Giovanni Borsotti with Cyprien Richard of France in third.

The pro giant slalom styled race featured 20 racers competing in four timed rounds with four racers eliminated from each round. Tim Jitloff, of Reno, Nev., was seventh, Miller in 11th and Tommy Ford, of Bend, Ore., missed qualifying out of the round of 16.
