Speculator, NY – Hamilton County in the rural Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for interested parties to purchase Oak Mountain Ski Area.
The 230-acre, 650 vertical-foot ski area on the outskirts of Speculator is being sold with or without a communications tower and the 10-acre parcel of land on which it sits at the mountain’s summit. It is currently owned by the Hamilton County Industrial Development Agency.
According to a document authored by Ann Melious, the agency’s Executive Director, the ski area has 14 trails, serviced by a CTEC quad chair and two Hall t-bars. Half of its trails are covered by snowmaking. Included in the sale is a four-lane tubing hill with a surface lift, night skiing lighting, a 9,500 square foot base lodge, a 4,800 square foot rental building and all other facilities associated with the ski area.
The deadline for submitting proposals is 2 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, March 22. No late proposals will be accepted.
