Bolton Valley $35 Lift Tickets Raise Money for Food Bank

Bolton, VT – Next week only, Bolton Valley Resort will sell a limited number of $35 lift tickets in four Vermont locations, and $3 from each lift ticket will be donated to the Vermont Foodbank to help lift up someone in need.

For every $1 donated, the Vermont Foodbank can help provide six meals to Vermonters in need. That means that every person who participates in this promotion will be helping to create 18 meals for their neighbors.

“We partnered with the Vermont Foodbank after Tropical Storm Irene and now that it’s winter, it made perfect sense to partner with them again, when people are still struggling either because of Irene damage, a tough economy or another situation,” said Josh Arneson, director of sales and marketing at Bolton. “Knowing that part of the sale from your lift ticket will create 18 meals is pretty cool—there’s no better feeling than knowing you’re helping your neighbors and those in need in your community. With the Vermont Foodbank, we can feel assured that meals will be distributed to those who need them.”

On Feb. 15, those who donate two non-perishable food items will receive $10 off their lift ticket for that day. Guests should bring their food items to the Bolton Guest Service desk to receive the special discounted lift ticket.

Anyone who donates through Feb. 17 also will be entered into a raffle to win one of two Bolton Valley hoodies. Guests will receive one raffle ticket per food item donated.

“People were affected by Irene and are still trying to get back on their feet and grants and funding have been cut for various programs,” said Arneson. “We hope the food we collect in the next two weeks will help stock the shelves for the winter and spring.”
