Mt. Hood, OR – Rescuers located a snowboarder missing on Mount Hood uninjured in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
Dae Lim, 34, credited his time in the South Korean army for his survival skills, which included building a makeshift bridge to cross a river and using his snowboard as a shelter. He became separated from a group of friends snowboarding out-of-bounds at Timberline Ski Area early Saturday afternoon, and his friends searched themselves for three hours before notifying authorities of Lim’s disappearance.
Lim was located around 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning by Clackamas County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, and was returned to Timberline Lodge without any medical issues.
