18-Year-Old Skier Dies After Hitting Shed at Copper Mountain

Copper Mountain, CO – An 18-year-old Wisconsin man died on Thursday after colliding with a shed at Copper Mountain ski resort in Colorado.

Patrick Sievert, of Pewaukee, Wisc., was vacationing and skiing with his family early on Thursday morning when he lost control on the intermediate Andy’s Encore run and collided with the snowmaking valve shed. The high school senior died at the Copper Medical Center of skull fractures, according to the Summit County Coroner’s Office.

Sievert was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
