Alpine Meadows and Snow Park Technologies roll out all the stops with a slopestyle course and spectator venue on the Dance Floor Terrain Park.  Trains will use a unique competition format to showcase the talents of 30 competitors vying for top honors and the chance to donate over $5,000 to selected charities.

“Trains is a truly rider-driven event, featuring top athletes mixing it up in Alpine’s Terrain Park,” said Roy Tuscany, founder of the High Fives Foundation, a Tahoe based non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for athletes who have experienced a life-altering injury while skiing or snowboarding.  “The event is a locomotive of energy, positivity, and fun for all.”

Three teams of ten (skiers and snowboarders) will be picked by captains to compete for Best Male, Best Female and Best 540 (degree rotation) in the first half of the competition. The event’s namesake Trains will be on display in the second half of the event as the team competition for Best Train ensues with each team of ten popping off the features in succession, much like the grand finale on a Fourth of July Fireworks display.

This is an invitational competition with participation by top athletes including Parker White, Maude Raymond, Nick Goepper, Carson Lehoillier and Chris Logan, to name a few.  A total of $5,000 cash will be donated by the winners of Best Male, Best Female, Best 540 (degree rotation) and Best Train to the winners’ select charitable organizations.

DJ Silver Boombox Thief will be on site to turn out beats to entertain spectators and keep the athletes pumped throughout the competition. Known throughout the Lake Tahoe area for melding reggae, dancehall, hip hop, and jazz, DJ One Truest will perform after the event at the after party on Alpine’s Sun Deck.
