South Lake Tahoe, CA – California’s Heavenly Mountain Resort at Lake Tahoe will operate the Heavenly Gondola for sightseeing, dining and limited hiking during Memorial Day Weekend, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday through Monday.
A ride on the Heavenly Gondola transports sightseers to the Mid-Station Observation Deck, a 14,000 square-foot platform nestled among massive granite boulders nearly 3,000 feet above the Lake. Offering unparalleled views of the Desolation Wilderness, Carson Valley and, of course, the sparkling waters of Lake Tahoe, the Observation Deck also features Café Blue, an outdoor dining area serving coffee, beer, cold beverages, hot chocolate and snacks.
Guests can continue up the Gondola to Adventure Peak, which will feature the 25-foot rock climbing wall, with an auto belay system, and the Spider Zone, an interactive climbing structure that allows children to explore, crawl, climb and slide in a protected environment. Limited hiking trails will also be available, and Tamarack Lodge will be open for dining.
Gondola sightseeing tickets will cost $34 for adults, $26 for teens (13-18) and seniors (65+) and $20 for kids. Children four and under ride the Gondola for free.
Also available is the Lift and Lunch program, which includes a round-trip Gondola ride and a $15 food voucher. The Lift and Lunch costs $42 for adults, $34 for teens (13-18) and seniors (65+) and $28 for kids.
Heavenly will resume seven-day-a-week summer operations on Friday, June 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Labor Day weekend, after which the resort will operate from Thursdays through Sundays through September 30.
