Lac Beauport (QC), Canada – For the second straight year, the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association will be supported by Energie Cardio, Quebec’s largest network of gym facilities.
“As the leader in fitness in Quebec, we believe that our network can be very valuable for Freestyle’s elite athletes. We can ensure that they have access to a facility to train throughout the year whether or not they are on snow. They can focus on their training in a different way and benefit from all our services. We are proud to be partners and to welcome such talented athletes in our centers,” said Marieve Tardif, brand manager for Energie Cardio.
With more than 70 gyms in the province, and a partnership with Goodlife Fitness, which has centers across the country, every National Team athlete and coach has free access to first class fitness facilities.
The National Team uses the gym for group training with their coaches, and the athletes are expected to keep up their conditioning programs during their weeks off. “For them to have free access to the Energie Cardio gyms is an awesome addition to our training program. It allows the team to keep up with their fitness routines with no excuses when we have breaks in our organized training schedule,” said National Aerials Team Strength and Conditioning Coach Jonathan Pelletier-Ouellette.
“I’ve been training at the Energie Cardio since the beginning of my career whenever I’m at home,” added Sabrina Guerin of Montreal, a World Cup aerialist who is just coming back from injury. “Those gyms have all the equipment we need, especially the squat rack that is hard to find in a regular gym. Having the membership was also very helpful for me when I was injured because I had a lot of time at home while the team was on the road, I trained regularly at Energie Cardio.”
Energie Cardio is also a longstanding supporter of the Quebec Freestyle Ski Team.
