Boulder, CO – Footbalance, a Finnish company that provides fully customized footbeds for skiing and other sports, is moving its North American headquarters to Boulder, Colo. from San Diego, Calif., where it has been based since 2009. The move will take place immediately following the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2012 trade show being held this week in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Footbalance decided to make the move in order to be in the hub of the outdoor and footwear industries and to better partner with key brands in those channels, says Matt Kaplan, president and CEO of Footbalance North America, who adds that this move will also allow the company to better align with its overall goals for growth, athlete testing and consumer feedback.
“By moving to Boulder we will be in a location where people live and breathe a healthy, balanced and active lifestyle,” said Kaplan. “Our offices will be located right in the heart of downtown Boulder, which will allow, Footbalance to be at the forefront of product innovation. Some of the best playgrounds for testing will be steps away from our front door.”
Kaplan added that some Footbalance staff are already located in the Boulder area but will be moving into the new, larger office space to accommodate the additional employees who will be working from Boulder. However, the company will continue to maintain its warehousing, distribution and logistics in the San Diego location.
“We have a lot of very important retail and vendor partners in San Diego,” said Kaplan. “We have every intention to continue to build on those relationships and offer better and better levels of service through a continued presence in San Diego, as well as through our new North American headquarters.”
