Jay, VT – Jay Peak’s Summer Music and Art’s Series will end on a high note when the David Grisman Bluegrass Experience takes the stage at the Vermont ski resort’s Foeger Ballroom. The special seated show wraps up a three-month long string of festivals like the resort’s August West Fest, and national acts that saw the likes of the Wailers, and the Jerry Garcia Art Exhibit come to the resort’s new arts venue. Grisman and his band will take the stage on Sunday, September 23rd.
“The Series performed very well in terms of drawing people from across the state and The Foeger Ballroom proved to be a great place to see live music,” said Jay Peak’s vice president of sales and marketing Steve Wright. “Being able to attract talent like David Grisman to the Foeger (Ballroom) positions the resort for expanded lineups in the future; we’re excited about the future of arts and entertainment up here at Jay Peak.”
Having played with the likes of the Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia and Bonnie Raitt, Grisman, along with his band, have been a pioneering influence in the music world fusing elements of folk, jazz, and acoustic bluegrass to come up with their own style often labeled “newgrass” music. For years the band has been one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s best kept secrets with lines stretching around the block for their shows.
The ticketed show will be in the Foeger Ballroom with both general admission and VIP tickets available. Doors open at 6 p.m. with VIP attendees having a special meet-and-greet with Grisman and his band along with access to the Long Trail Lounge, hors d’oeuvres, and front-row seating.
