Warren, VT – Sugarbush recently hired professional ski instructor Russell Kauff to head the Vermont resort’s Ski and Ride School.
Kauff brings to the resort a demonstrated aptitude for creating positive on-snow experiences for guests. He has spent the last 11 years chasing an endless winter between Vermont and Wanaka, New Zealand. In New Zealand, Kauff taught at Cardona and Treble Cone resorts. Back in Vermont, Kauff has held numerous positions as a staff trainer, a supervisor, and an instructor at Okemo Mountain Resort and Stratton Resort. Kauff holds a PSIA Level III and a PSIA Children’s Specialist 1 certification and is a USSA/USSCA Licensed Alpine Race Coach.
“Our commitment at Sugarbush has always been to improve the guest experience and to help guests excel at their passions,” said Win Smith, President of Sugarbush Resort. “Russell’s dedication to these principles makes him the perfect person to move our Ski and Ride Program forward.”
The Sugarbush Ski and Ride School, the cornerstone of the resort’s Adventure Learning Center, provides instruction and guiding for all abilities and ages. The school boasts many PSIA/AASI-certified instructors as well as guides who teach a less-traditional, more adventure-based approach. The resort offers a variety of instruction including race technique, skills-based mountaineering, and backcountry, and has numerous children’s programs. Sugarbush is also home to the First Timer To Life Timer program, which grants first-time skiers and riders a free season pass after the completion of a three-lesson course.
