Truckee, CA – It’s the time of year to ignore responsibility and get a job to spend a winter ski bumming on the slopes. If you’re headed for Tahoe, a trio of area resorts are holding job fairs this Saturday to provide you with gainful employment this season.
Northstar California Resort in Truckee, and Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows near Tahoe City will be holding their annual job fairs this Saturday, Nov. 3. At Northstar, the first 200 people who show up and apply for positions will be served a hot breakfast – including bacon (cue Homer Simpson here: “mmmm…bacon!) – between 8 and 10 a.m.
“Because our job fairs earlier this fall were so successful and produced high quality candidates, we’ve decided to host another event in order to provide another opportunity for applicants to get in front of our hiring managers,” said Dick Sharp, human resources director at Northstar. “And, to give even more incentive for job seekers to apply now, we’re offering a free breakfast to the first 200 candidates who show up to interview for a position.”
Northstar’s latest hiring event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Northstar is currently accepting applications and hiring for the more than 1,200 seasonal positions available at the resort for the winter 2012-13 season, and is in search of service-oriented, professional employees to fill a variety of full-time, part-time and holiday seasonal positions. Those interested in winter employment are invited to apply to work in departments including the Northstar Ski & Snowboard School, transportation, lift operations, food and beverage, retail operations, lodging, product sales and service and more.
Benefits of working at Northstar can include a season pass valid at multiple Vail Resorts mountains, discounted dependent passes, discounts on food, beverage and retail items at the resort, complimentary and/or discounted lift tickets for friends and family, full benefits for full-time employees, 401K matching after 1,000 hours worked, lodging discounts at other Vail Resorts properties, access to ski and snowboard lessons, complimentary local area bus passes and more. Applicants are encouraged to review available positions and apply now at www.jobs.vailresorts.com.
Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, meanwhile, will be interviewing from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday in the Olympic House for a number of full- and part-time positions including ski/snowboard school instructors, lift operations, grooming, terrain parks, culinary services, rental services, retail, security, product sales and services, and parking. Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows’ job fair is by invitation. Walk-ins will be permitted, however, applicants are strongly encouraged to apply online prior to Saturday. All available Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows positions are currently posted online at www.squaw.com/job-openings and www.skialpine.com/alpine-employment/current-openings.
