Park City, UT – Olympic medalist and world champion Todd Lodwick, of Steamboat Springs, Colo., will headline a large field of athletes from many nations this weekend at International Ski Federation (FIS) Nordic Combined Continental Cup competitions at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City and Soldier Hollow in nearby Midway, Utah.
The Continental Cup is a stepping stone circuit to the World Cup, with athletes vying for top spots to qualify them for the World Cup. Lodwick, who is taking a break from the World Cup, will lead a strong U.S. Ski Team in the opening event of the global series.
Other top U.S. Ski Team athletes will include Nick Hendrickson of Park City, Eau Claire, Wisc.’s Adam Loomis, and Coloradans Michael Ward of Aspen and Brett Denney of Steamboat Springs.
Competitions are set on the 2002 Olympic venues for today through Sunday with trial round jumping at 9:30 a.m. at the Utah Olympic Park and cross-country at 2 p.m. at Soldier Hollow.
Action starts each morning with trial jumps at 9:30 a.m. at the Utah Olympic Park and concludes each day with a 10k cross-country race at 2 p.m. at Soldier Hollow.
