Sandpoint, ID – Idaho’s Schweitzer Mountain Resort hosted a successful fundraiser at the annual Community Day last Friday. Approximately $30,570 was donated to the two local organizations, Community Cancer Services (CCS) and Bonner Partners in Care.
Over 3,000 tickets were sold for Community Day, with 100% of the proceeds going to the two local agencies. Tickets were sold online, at the two agencies and at the mountain this year. This is one of the largest Community Days on record for Schweitzer.
“To see such a large turnout for an event like this really illustrates what kind of community this is,” said Schweitzer Activities and Events Director Mary-Weber Quinn. “We support and care about each other, and I think that was shown here today.”
“We are super excited at the turnout today; it’s a great collaboration between Schweitzer Mountain and the local community.” said CCS President Stefanie Nostdahl and Board member Erin Butler. “A tremendous thanks to Schweitzer!”
“We feel fortunate to have participated in Community Day for the first time this year,” said Bonner Partners in Care Board member Scot Auld. “This donation will make such a positive impact on our local community.”
Community Cancer Services and Bonner Partners in Care are both local agencies that benefit those in need. Their services include counseling, prescription assistance and financial and emotional support for those battling cancer and other illnesses. The donations from Community Day will go to assisting these agencies service to the local community.
