Teen Skier Dies Following Fall in Ontario

Uxbridge (ON), Canada – A 16-year-old boy died following a fall on Friday in the terrain park at Lakeridge Ski Resort in Uxbridge, northeast of Toronto.

The unidentified victim, from the nearby community of Markham, was pronounced dead in an area hospital shortly after midnight on Sunday, according to the Durham Regional Police. They say that the boy was skiing in the resort’s Razor’s Edge terrain park when he fell after failing to complete a jump. Ski area officials say that he was wearing a helmet at the time, as all using the terrain park are required to do.

The victim was found in the terrain park unconscious without any vital signs visible.
