Schonach, Germany – Bryan Fletcher, of Steamboat Springs, Colo., jumped to 11th and led the U.S. Ski Team in 22nd overall at a FIS Nordic Combined World Cup in Schonach on Sunday. France’s Jason Lamy Chappuis won by 1.9 seconds over Japan’s Akito Watabe.
Bryan’s brother Taylor had the fifth fastest cross-country time to move up from 48th in the jump to finish 26th. Todd Lodwick, also of Steamboat Springs, was 32nd while New York State’s Billy Demong failed to qualify. On Saturday, the four skiers combined for a first-ever U.S. World Cup team podium, finishing third.
The nordic combined World Cup tour now heads for Chaux-Neuve, France for a pair of events this weekend.
