Chaux-Neuve, France – Taylor Fletcher, of Steamboat Springs, Colo., continued his torrid cross country skiing pace, coming back from 34^th in the jump to finish tenth in a FIS Nordic Combined World Cup in Chaux-Neuve on Saturday.

“Today was a very good day all around. I had a great trial round jump and I wanted to keep the feelings and try to improve for the competition round,” said Fletcher. “I have been having great jumps in training and I was just trying to be consistent. My competition jump was exactly how I have been training, so I couldn’t have asked for more.”

Fletcher had the fasest cross country time for the second time this World Cup season as German Tino Edelmann took the win. Todd Lodwick was 29^th with Taylor’s brother Bryan Fletcher 31^st. All are from Steamboat Springs.

“In the cross country portion I knew I needed to move up fast if I wanted to have a shot at the top ten and that is exactly what I did,” Taylor Fletcher added. “I still have a lot to learn in cross country even though I had the fastest time. I surely went out too hard. If I learn how to pace better I can ski faster later in the race and put myself in great positions for greater results.”
