Powdr Corp Launches New Business to Leverage Ski Resorts and Brands

Park City, UT – Ski resort and action sports camp owner and operator Powdr Corp. on Monday announced the creation of a new business, Powdr Enterprises, which will focus on events, sponsorships and media opportunities to help leverage the Powdr family of brands including Powdr Resorts, Woodward Camps and Outside Television. Industry veteran Wade Martin will serve as president of Powdr Enterprises.

Headquartered in Park City, Powdr currently owns and operates eight mountain resorts including: Park City Mountain Resort and Gorgoza tubing Park in Park City, Utah; Killington Resort and Pico Mountain in Killington, Vermont; Mt. Bachelor in Bend, Oregon; Boreal Resort and Soda Springs Resort in Donner Summit, California; Copper Mountain Resort in Summit County, Colorado; and Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort near Las Vegas, Nevada.  Powdr also owns and operates Woodward Camps, with four locations in the United States including Camp Woodward in Woodward, Pennsylvania; Woodward West in Tehachapi, California; Woodward Tahoe at Boreal Resort in California; and Woodward at Copper in Summit County, Colorado.

He has an unparalleled track record of successfully creating and leveraging events, media and sponsorships to turn companies into powerhouse brands.”

Most recently, Martin was the president and CEO of Alli Sports, a global entertainment business, which housed the world’s leading action sports event and media properties including the Dew Tour, which Martin founded with NBC in 2005, as well the Red Bull Signature Series, AMA Pro Motocross Championship, and allisports.com.  Martin’s work at Alli earned him the prestigious Sports Business Journal ‘Forty under 40’ award and Brandweek’s ‘Marketers of the Next Generation’. As President of Powdr Enterprises, Martin will guide and oversee all facets of the business including: sponsorship, media, events, licensing, strategic alliances and business development.

Before joining NBC, Martin was a Senior Vice President at Octagon and oversaw the Action Sports Division including his role as Executive Director of the Gravity Games. Martin developed the Gravity Games into one of the most widely recognized action sports properties in the world. Martin earned a B.S. from Michigan State University and a M.S. in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

Powdr Enterprises will be headquartered in Park City and will begin operations in the spring of 2013.
