Alta, UT – Some would say that Alta is a throwback to a bygone era in skiing, and the Utah ski resort is filling a time capsule to celebrate the past 75 years and look forward to the years to come.

The Alta Time Capsule is an opportunity for all who love Alta to have a part in recording its history by saving pictures, stories and videos collected over the past 75 years.

Wouldn’t it be fun to take a look 5, 10, 20 years from now and see what you, your family, and friends were doing at Alta? From now through the end of the season, you can record your part in Alta’s history by adding your ski pictures and videos to the online time capsule. You can also claim your favorite spot on the mountain and provide a favorite story or two. Your first picture or video is free. You can add additional pictures and videos or select your favorite spot on the mountain by making a small monetary contribution to the time capsule.

At the end of the season, the Alta Time Capsule will be sealed and placed in a digital storage vault to be opened at an unspecified date in the future. When it opens, it is sent to everyone who registered and participated.

Proceeds from individuals choosing to purchase additional space in the Alta Time Capsule will be split evenly among Friends of Alta, Alta Community Enrichment, and the Alta Historical Society. These three organizations are all 501(C)(3) corporations.
