Loon Hosts On-Snow Charity Golf Tournament

Lincoln, NH – Loon Mountain Resort will join forces with the Court Appointed Special Advocates of New Hampshire (CASA) on Feb. 1 for CASA Snow Fest, a snow-golf tournament to benefit abused and neglected children in the New Hampshire court system. The ski resort will also host CASA volunteers and their families for a day of fun on the mountain as a small thank you for the time and energy they devote to helping children get on the path to a better life.

During CASA Snow Fest, golfers will ski or snowboard a nine-hole course on the intermediate Blue Ox trail on Loon Peak, which will be filled with fun and interesting hazards to make for a challenging round. After golfing, competitors will enjoy a lunch catered by The Common Man Restaurant. Later that day raffles, prizes, and awards will be given out during an après ski party at Babe’s Blue Ox Lounge. Celebrity sponsors will be on hand throughout the day, including WMUR-TV 9’s Amy Coveno, and WOKQ’s Mark Ericson and Karen Kiley.

All proceeds from CASA Snow Fest will benefit the Court Appointed Special Advocates of New Hampshire, a nonprofit organization that recruits, trains and supervises volunteers to serve as advocates for abused and neglected children in the New Hampshire court system.

“We are so grateful for what Loon Mountain has done for CASA for 13 years,” said Marty Sink, CEO and President of CASA of New Hampshire. “Not only has their support helped CASA raise funds to support our statewide program, but Loon Mountain’s recognition of our CASA volunteers and their tireless advocacy on behalf of NH’s abused children has been extraordinary.”

Since 1989, CASA of NH has served more than 7,800 children in District and Family Courts. As a private nonprofit, CASA of NH receives 30 to 40 percent of its budget from state and federal funding; the remainder comes from individual and corporate contributions, private grant monies, and fundraising efforts like CASA Snow Fest.
