Newry, ME –In collaboration with OutRyders, a New England-based GLBTQ ski and snowboard club, and DownEast Pride Alliance, Sunday River Resort will host White Out Weekend (WOW) this Thursday through Sunday for four days on the snow dedicated to the gay and lesbian community.
Event highlights for this year’s WOW include a Mardi Gras Parade in the Sky with participants in their feathery finest zipping through the air along Sunday River’s Twin Zips, après get-togethers, spa treatments with complimentary wine, and a Mardi Gras Party at the Peak Lodge with a live performance by Provincetown’s DJ MaryAlice.
Other activities over the weekend will include night skiing on Friday and Saturday, zipline tours and fireworks. Also new this year, guests can pre-purchase a VIP All-Access Pass to the WOW Party at the Matterhorn, the Mardi Gras Party at the Peak Lodge, and the Mardi Gras Parade in the Sky—all for $49, including a limited edition commemorative t-shirt.
Special WOW lodging rates are available for stays at either Grand Hotel and start at $129 for slopeside lodging, lift tickets, free daily adult ski or snowboard clinics, and free breakfast, daily. Both hotels also boast full spas that offer sports massages and couples treatments as well as fitness centers, outdoor heated pools and hot tubs.
