Greenwood, ME – Continuing Mt. Abram’s commitment to environmental sustainability, the ski area has installed two E/V charging stations, just the second ski area in the U.S. to do so after Stevens Pass, Wash., did the same.
The two 220-volt charging centers are located close to the resort’s main lodge, rewarding guests who arrive in electric and hybrid cars.
“If more desirable destinations assumed a leadership role of protecting the planet, no one would ever need to drive a fossil fuel vehicle,” says Matt Hancock, Mt. Abram’s owner and operator.
Mt. Abram is located 62 miles from Portland, Maine’s biggest city. The new charging stations therefore make a round-trip possible on electric power.
