Bolton, VT – While Presidents’ Week is the typical school vacation week for many in New England, Bolton Valley continues to remember those families and schools that enjoy winter vacation on alternative dates. To help families celebrate winter, Bolton Valley presents its new Family Week from this Monday through Friday, with magicians, dog sledding and more to complement the Vermont resort’s mid-winter skiing and riding conditions.
On Monday, Vermont Magician Tom Joyce, known for his humor with both kids and adults alike, will perform from 4-5 p.m. in Fireside Flatbread in the main base lodge.
Tuesday is Vermont Peanut Butter Day, where when skiers and riders bring a jar of Vermont Peanut Butter they will receive 50% off a lift ticket for that day. All the peanut butter collected will be donated to the Vermont Food Bank. Folks from Vermont Peanut Butter also will be on hand to offer free samples of their peanut butter.
Two “seatings” of a free ice cream social and a kids movie will be held in the Bryan Room on Tuesday; one from 4-5:30 p.m. and a second from 6-7:30 p.m.
Complimentary Dog Sled Tours will be offered on Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Guests should meet at the Nordic Center to join the tour.
On Thursday from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. the No Strings Marionette Company will perform “The Snowmaiden” in Fireside Flatbread for kids ages 12 and younger.
And on Friday, complimentary Dog Sled Tours continue from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Beginning at 3:30 p.m. a bonfire, complete with cookies and hot chocolate, will round out the week of celebrations.
All participants must have a Bolton Valley Season Pass or lift ticket valid for the day to receive the complimentary Dog Sled Tour.
“We have solid mid-winter conditions with groomed and packed powder surfaces and the forecast continues to look good into next week,” said Josh Arneson, director of sales and marketing at Bolton. “We know not everyone shares the same school vacations so we’re hoping families that have the last week in February off will take advantage of some of the fun activities we have planned.”
