Moscow, Russia – The third parallel slalom of the 2013 FIS Snowboard World Cup season will be staged in Moscow on Saturday. As it’s still unsure if the cancelled PSL event of the 2014 Sochi rehearsal can be run this season, the race in the Russian capital is most likely the last parallel slalom of this winter and thus the decisive one for the discipline World Cup.

As a result, the expected showdown will be even more exciting as local organizers have once again built a massive ramp, this time at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre for flood-lit finals in the Russian capital.

Reigning Parallel World Cup title champion Patrizia Kummer has the best chances to win another Globe as the Swiss racer sitss in first place in the Parallel Slalom World Cup ranking with 1,240 points. However, Germany’s Amelie Kober is only 40 points behind. Austrian speed queens Julia Dujmovits (1,090) and Marion Kreiner (1,060) are still within reach as well.

On the men’s side, the final duel for the title is an even closer one. Zan Kosir of Slovenia, and Italian Roland Fischnaller, have both collected 1,600 points so far. It’s thus very likely that one of them will take home a career’ first World Cup, title although Austria’s Andreas Prommegger (1,160 points) and Aaron March of Italy (1,050 points) still have a fighting chance.

Qualification rounds will kick off at 10 a.m. local time on Saturday, with finals set for 7:30 p.m.
