New York Man Dies While Sledding After Hours at Mount Snow

West Dover, VT – A New York City man died of head and neck injuries while sledding after hours on Sunday in the Carinthia Halfpipe at Vermont’s Mount Snow ski resort.

Jonathan Meyers, 28, lost control of the sled on which he was riding and struck a support post on the deck of the Carinthia Base Lodge at Mount Snow, police indicate.

Deerfield Valley Rescue responded to the scene, but Meyers, whose family has a second home in the area, was pronounced dead.

After-hours sledding is not permitted at Mount Snow. The Dover Police Department is investigating Meyers’ death.
