Salt Lake City, UT – Spring is officially here, but that shouldn’t stop anyone from hitting the slopes. Recent snow, and deepest bases of the year make for great conditions in the mountains matched with spring deals that can’t be beat and special events to celebrate the season. Below are spring deals found throughout Utah on lift tickets, event listings and more. Don’t forget the sunscreen!
Spring lift ticket deals in Utah include the following offers:
- Canyons Resort: Lift tickets for the last week of the season are currently selling for $45. Rates are subject to change and advance purchase is required.
- Out-of-state visitors can convert an airline boarding pass into a free arrival-day lift ticket to ski or board free on day of arrival at Park City’s three resorts: Deer Valley Resort, Canyons Resort and Park City Mountain Resort. Advance online registration is required.
- Alta Ski Area: April 1-14, season pass holders from ski areas in the U.S. and around the world can ski Alta for $55 per day. A pictured season pass and ID are required. Lift rates drop to $55 per day April 19-21 and April 26-28, when Alta will be running its Collins and Sunnyside lifts. Utah K-12 students will enjoy Alta’s Spring Break Special, March 25-28 and April 1-4 at $15 per day with a student ID or current report card. Utah students with MyAlta Cards leave it at home and go to the ticket office with student ID or report card for your Spring Break Special.

Beaver Mountain: Season passes for 2013-2014 are now on sale. These passes are good for the rest of the 2012-2013 season as well as all of next season.
- Brighton Resort: $27 night skiing every Saturday until the end of the season. April 1-6 is the last week of night skiing at Brighton this season, and the resort will lower the night lift ticket price to $20 each for the final week. Night skiing begins at 4 p.m. Starting April 1 any Brighton resort season pass holder will be eligible to receive a $32 lift ticket for a friend. You must present your current season pass to the ticket window as proof. Starting April 8 any visiting resort season pass holder will be eligible to receive a $32 daily lift ticket. Show your current season pass to the ticket window to receive the deal. Finally, for tax day on Monday, April 15, Brighton will let you unwind after completing that 1040 with $20 adult lift tickets.
- Sundance Resort: 2 for 1 night skiing on Wednesdays.
- Solitude: Solitude says “No to Summer” April 1-14, when adult tickets will be priced at $49 and Junior tickets $19 every day, with no restrictions.
- Eagle Point: Everyone skis free on Thursdays.
- Park City Mountain Resort: PCMR night skiing and riding tickets are available for 50% off ($34) at area Ski ‘N See and Arcs locations (with the exception of the Ski ‘N See location at Park City Mountain Resort). Park City Mountain Resort keeps three lifts, two runs and a terrain park open until 9 p.m. every night through this Sunday, March 31.
The #loveyourbrain rail jam and on-snow festival will take place for charity at Powder Mountain this Saturday, March 30. Wear your helmet and receive $10 off your lift ticket. The Rail Jam will be announced and judged by professional Kevin Pearce and the Frends Crew.
Volcom Stone presents their annual Peanut Butter and Rail Jam at Brighton this Saturday, March 30 at the Milly Chalet, where registration takes place at 9 a.m. sharp. Operation Smile, an international children’s medical charity, is hosting the second annual Park City Celebrity Smile Challenge this Saturday, March 30, at Canyons Resort to raise funds and awareness for children around the world suffering from cleft lip and cleft palate. The Celebrity Ski Challenge recognizes the more than 3.5 million healthcare evaluations and over 200,000 life-altering surgeries that Operation Smile has given to children born with facial deformities around the world.
Teams of six racers consisting of one celebrity skier, one professional skier, and four amateur skiers/Operation Smile donors will compete in a friendly challenge to raise funds for the organization. The team with the best overall finish time will be recognized during an award luncheon at The Red Tail Grill directly following the race. The Event Chairs are Jennifer Salke, President of NBC Entertainment, and 3 Moms on a Mission’s Stephanie Argyros, Krista Jajonie and Daneia Sanadiki. Henry Salke will serve as Junior Event Chair. Zachary Levi’s company, The Nerd Machine, has signed on as the Title Sponsor of the event. Celebrities in attendance will include Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Kate Walsh, Zachary Levi, Jennifer Salke (NBC Entertainment President) and Dana Walden (20th Century Fox Television Chairman). Olympic and professional skiers competing will include Fuzz Feddersen, Holly Flanders and Kaylin Richardson.
The Operation Smile Celebrity Ski Challenge is part of the final weekend of the 6th Annual Spring Grüv at Canyons Resort, which also includes a free concert in Canyons Resort village this Saturday by ska and reggae music legends Toots & The Maytals. The band’s 1968 single “Do the Reggae” was widely credited with coining the word “reggae”. The band won the 2005 Grammy award for best reggae album with True Love, a record consisting of re-recorded versions of their classics alongside popular and legendary musicians such as Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, Eric Clapton, and Keith Richards, as well as popular artists today such as No Doubt, Ben Harper, The Roots, and Shaggy. Paa Kow’s By All Means Band will open for Toots & The Maytals with a danceable fusion of West African and American rhythms.
Easter at Snowbird will feature a sunrise service this Sunday on Hidden Peak and a free Easter egg hunt. Free Aerial Tram rides will be offered to transport passengers to Hidden Peak beginning at 5:45 a.m., and the service will begin at 7:15 a.m. Guests are encouraged to dress warmly, and no skis or snowboards will be allowed on the Tram before the resort opens for skiing and snowboarding at 9 a.m.
Snowbird’s Easter egg hunt is for children up to 11 years old, and will take place in Chickadee Bowl at 9 a.m. The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance at the hunt.
Easter brunch will be served at The Aerie, on Level 10 of The Cliff Lodge at Snowbird, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Reservations are recommended by calling (801) 933-2181. The all-you-can-eat brunch buffet for costs $40 for adults, $19 for children age 6-12, and free for children under age 6. Easter brunch will also be served at The Forklift from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., featuring an a la carte menu. The Forklift is located on Level 3 of the Snowbird Center.
Brighton’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt takes place this Sunday, March 31. Kids and adults alike should meet up at 8:30 a.m. at Brighton’s Explorer chairlift, and anyone dressed as the Easter Bunny will receive a $32 all area adult lift ticket.
Spring Grüv at Canyons Resort will wrap up this Sunday with a 3 p.m. free concert by Eufórquestra. Originally from Iowa City, Eufórquestra (think Euphoria+Orchestra) relocated to Fort Collins, Colo., in August 2008 and has made a splash with its progressive, genre-bending funk fusion and a relentless tour schedule. Eufórquestra is quickly spreading its unique, rhythmic blend of sound, integrating such genres as Afrobeat, Reggae, Funk, Soukous, Soca, Salsa, and Dub. As the band puts it, “we just want to make people dance.”
Snowbird will host the Freeride Junior World Championships, a big mountain ski competition for youth, April 3-5. The Subaru Freeride World Tour for adults will stop at Snowbird April 11-13, featuring some of the best big mountain freeskiers from around the world.
Snowbird will also host live music on the Plaza Deck each Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 2-5 p.m., and special lodging discounts are being offered throughout the rest of the season, including the Spring Stay and Ski Package, which includes a minimum of two nights lodging and two days of lift tickets from $99 per person, per night, based on double occupancy.
