Terrebonne (QC), Canada – After 18 years as the head of the Québec Ski Areas Association (ASSQ), Claude Péloquin will be leaving his position on September 6th to pursue a career with Ski Bromont, a popular resort in the province’s Eastern Townships.
Since Péloquin began working as the association’s CEO in 1995, the ASSQ has expanded to now offer a variety of programs and services to the benefit of its members. During this period, the association’s annual budget has shown steady growth and the organization now has a team of professional and passionate employees.
Within the past three years the ASSQ has established an insurance program, developed a range of professional support services, created several best practices manuals, developed funding solutions and most recently, constructed a new headquarters.
“It’s healthy for an organization such as the ASSQ to benefit from new leadership,” said Péloquin. “It’s now time for me to move on and I look forward to facing new challenges as CFO at Ski Bromont.”
A recruiting process to find a new CEO for the ASSQ will begin in the coming weeks and a transition period will provide the association with the opportunity for a smooth transfer of responsibilities, ASSQ officials indicate.
The Quebec Ski Areas Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1979 that represents the interests of 74 ski resorts in Quebec and more than 80 industry-related suppliers.
