Steamboat Springs, CO – Lights will illuminate some of Steamboat Ski Area’s runs this winter as the Steamboat City Council has given its unanimous approval to the Colorado ski resort’s night skiing plan.

The approval to provide night skiing on five trails descending from Christie Peak Express to the resort’s promenade area was granted in a Council meeting on August 20. The City Council agreed to revisit the program in a public forum next June to gauge resident feedback.

Night skiing at Steamboat will be offered this winter on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the spring. Hours of operation may expand to additional nights during holidays and special time periods, resort officials indicate.

If purchased before Sept. 30, Steamboat Ski Area full season pass holders can add night skiing to their pass for $39. That price will increase to $49 on Oct. 1 and $79 on Dec. 31. The walk-up window price for a single night of skiing will be $29 for adults, $19 for teens and $9 for children, with advance purchase discounts available.
