Whistler (BC), Canada – It may only be October 2nd but it sure feels like winter already at Whistler Blackcomb.
To celebrate an abundance of early season snow that has already fallen in the alpine, the ski resort in British Columbia’s Coast Mountains is inviting one lucky fan to jump in a helicopter to sample the goods.
Pro snowboarder Annie Boulanger, and pro skiers Mike Douglas and Eric Hjorleifson will be heading up with Whistler Heli-Skiing tomorrow to get some first turns on Blackcomb Mountain and in the Whistler backcountry. All the while, legendary ski photographer Paul Morrison and Switchback Entertainment will capture the action on photo and film.
For the first time ever, Whistler Blackcomb is inviting one lucky person to join in on the early season mission and that person will be selected via the Whistler Blackcomb First Tracks Contest. Participants are asked to Tweet a photo or post their best Instagram shot with the hashtag #WBFirstTracks depicting the theme “First Tracks”. The contest ends today at 2 p.m. PDT. The best photo will be chosen by 4 p.m. PDT today, and that skier or rider will get their own first tracks experience at Whistler Blackcomb on Thursday with Whistler Heli-Skiing.
