Snowpark Kitzsteinhorn Opens Glacier Park Tomorrow

Zell am See-Kaprun, Austria – Kitzsteinhorn is ready to kick-start the freestyle season in Austria.

Glacier Park will open on Saturday, presenting a small but varied set-up on Salzburg’s only glacier 2,900 m above sea level. Features will include two lines with kickers, rails, and boxes to provide some early-season freestyle ski and snowboard fun. The season’s first event, the Kitzsteinhorn Season Blast will take place in only two weeks, from November 1 to 3.

Kitzsteinhorn recently saw some heavy snow showers that enabled the park crew to prepare the two lines,  an easy line and a jib line. The easy line includes an Easy Tube (4 m), Butter Box Straight (6 m), and kickers (2-4 m & 4-6 m). The jib line consists of an Easy Tube (4 m), Industry Down (8 m), Down Flat Down (4/2/6 m), and Up Rail (7 m), as well as a creative special feature that will be modified every now and then. The set-up will be extended in the following weeks. In December, Austria’s biggest superpipe is expected to open along with Kitzsteinhorn’s Central Park and Easy Park with its new, more playful set-up.
