Woodbury, CT – Woodbury Ski Area in southwestern Connecticut opened today, but don’t be expecting any sweeping top-to-bottom runs.

Owner Rod Taylor has a propensity for making a patch of snow and “opening” each fall once temperatures permit, and the mercury dropped sufficiently on Friday night for Taylor to turn on the snow guns.

Today, Woodbury is open for business with a couple of terrain park features and a rope tow.

This is the second year in a row that Woodbury has opened before Halloween. Hours will be from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. today and Sunday.
