Truckee, CA – With the return of snowmaking temperatures and natural snowfall to the Lake Tahoe region, Boreal Mountain Resort is contemplating opening its ski season in time for this weekend.
Boreal officials reported over a foot of new snowfall at Boreal on Monday, and snowmaking efforts were continuing with over 20 guns in operation as temperatures allowed.
Resort officials expect to reach a decision today or tomorrow on whether or not the Boreal will open for skiing and snowboarding sometime this week. The resort is typically one of the first ski areas to open in California, and opened on October 26th last year.
